Memorial Day Weekend

We sure had a busy weekend! We spent it up north with parents/grandparents. Jared was able to do some fishing with his dad on Saturday. Even I was able to do a little fishing with the two of them on Sunday. It was nice to get away for a little bit while Grandma B watched the kiddos. It was so peaceful on the lake--absolutely beautiful! The kids and I spent a lot of time with my parents as well. We visited the cemetery where my grandpa and grandma Waite are buried, and on Monday Macy was able to lay poppies on my grandpa Nerem's grave during the Memorial Day service. What made if even more special was that my dad was the one who was able to walk her to the grave of his father and my grandma Nerem was there to see her do it. All in all it was a great weekend. Every time we go back "home," I always ask myself why we don't do this more often. Could it be because I still haven't learned how to pack "lightly?"

Macy's hair when it's humid out. I just love her curls!

What Greyson does most of the time he spends on the floor. Nope, doesn't crawl yet. Just slides himself on his belly to get where he wants to go.

"Mani and Duhbada"

This past weekend we had my two cousins stay with us. Madeline "Madi" is 14 and Olivia is 12. Boy, have they grown up! Talk about great help. They LOVE babies! I actually got caught up on laundry for the first time in, what seems, months. Both girls changed diapers, yes, poopy ones, too, fed, and dressed both kids. Macy was sad to see them go. I think we'll be having company for a week this summer:) The meaning behind the title of this entry: "Mani" = Madi and "Duhbada" = Olivia in Macy's terms. Pics from the weekend...

Mother's Day 2009

This was my kids and me on Mother's Day. We CAN'T forget Frazier now, can we? Grandma and Grandpa Colegrove were down for the weekend. I'd like to say it was very relaxing for all of us, but that's the furthest from the truth. On Saturday I made a trip with my parents up to Rochester to see my uncle who was and still is in the hospital. Grandma B watched both kids that day while Jared and Grandpa worked on the lawn. Brenda was beyond tired by the end of the day. Two children under two tend to do that to a person:) Sunday, Jared and Chuck planted trees--4 of them. Anyone who knows Jared know that he is very passionate about his trees, right Carrie? We (Jared) planted 12 one year when we lived in Janesville. The only way he could get away with this is if he agreed to be our neighbor's "pool boy" for all the leaves and who knows what that would soon be flying off the trees and into their pool:) Believe me, he's a professional planter of trees.
We had Greyson's 6 month pics taken a couple weeks ago. Here are a few from the session. Of course it's impossible to not get M in some of them!

Funny Big Sister!!!

Yes, you are viewing yet another video involving the highchair.;)

6 months old and 1 tooth!

Greyson had his 6 month well baby check yesterday! He's a growing boy and is right on track. 90 percentile for height and weight and 75 percentile for head. His head doesn't look small does it? He's enjoying his fruits and veggies, doing lots of babbling, and rocking on all fours. Crawling is just around the corner. He does manage to get where he wants to go scooting on his belly. He is such a content baby.

Here I come!
